Assalammualaikum...
So how's everyone? Still in Raya mood? I know I am. But missing Kuching too...
Raya mood: 100%, working mood: 0%.. Hahahha...
First of all, and I hope it's not too late, but I would like to say Happy Eid to whoever reading this entry, maaf zahir dan batin too. And I hope everyone had a good celebration, and great time spent with family and friends.
Alhamdulillah, we went through Ramadhan kareem without much problem, and even now, I miss this holy month still. Let's pray semoga kita berjumpa bulan Ramadhan lagi next year ok? InsyaAllah...
But alas, once Ramadhan is over, Syawal is here, and it's time to celebrate our Ramadhan victory. I flew home to Kuching on 3 August, yes I know a bit early, but well, I was really eager to get home this year. No specific reason, just that I miss Kuching and my family extra this time round.
Took loads of photos, cooked loads of food, and spent lots of time with friends too. Lemme just share everything in pictures, shall I?
Dalam kepala asyik nyanyi lagu 'Balik Kampung'!!!
Our lampu Raya. Good time to play around with my camera too!
Tumis kari and kacau rendang!
My signature dish - daging masak merah
Pagi Raya, went to my auntie's house nearby and had a bit of Raya breakfast there. This is my niece, Nurin Jazlina. Ye.. nama dekat-dekat sangat dengan the famous arwah Nurin Jazlin kan?
Our living room deco. Simple je...
Some family portraits and memories
A unique Kuching Raya experience would be eating keropok ikan with acar timun. Just to get away from all the normal fatty/santan-y Raya food
Reconnect with school friends, most already with family of their own.
Then, on 14 August I flew back to KL, albeit with major reluctance. But the celebration and time to reconnect our silaturrahim with friends doesn't end. This time, celebration with friends in KL..
Oh well, Raya sebulan, more time to meet up with friends and bond with them ehh?
That's all for now. Selamat hari raya everyone!

Take A Break
Hi,
I just want to take a break from the 30 Day Blog Post Challenge. Kinda bored with it actually. Not in the mood to think about what to write as per the challenge.
So I'm taking a break and ramble about something else. Today is the 24th day of fasting. I'm counting the days till I fly home this Saturday. Time for family, and to (hopefully) forget about work.
Yesterday, we celebrated Addin Riffqi's 1st birthday. Wrote about his birth here.
He has almost full set of teeth now, and he can already walk at 11 months. Walks pretty fast right now, and is doted on by practically every member of the family. Later over the weekend, or maybe even during Raya, we'll have the Kuching level celebration. But for the time being, it's just me and the proud parents in our little celebration last night. Poor boy was so exhausted from the walking he did around the house while waiting for the breaking of fast that he went to sleep right after the cake cutting thingy.
Cutting the cake, with the proud parents.
So that's the story of last night. I don't want to recall about what happened after I left my cousin's place to deliver the Raya cakes to the so-called customers, but ended up making an almost-wasted journey.
Takpe pikir benda happy-happy je la sekarang k!:)

Back From Kuching and Still in Raya Mood
Hi..
I'm kinda..depressed right now. I just returned from Kuching last night, but my heart is still very much at home.
It surely felt like the time back home was too short, but at the same time, I'm glad to be back here.
This will be a short one. Just let me get my blogging groove back, will ya?
In the meantime..
Still in the celebratory mood, so...Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin again!

Mood Nak Raya dan Tag Dari Qies
Hai..
For some reason, minggu lepas mood nak update blog nan hado! Banyak gak cerita, but the situation at the office was pretty hectic. Sibuk nak habiskan kerja before everyone is off for the Raya holiday.
Speaking of which, I CAN'T WAIT TO FLY HOME!!!

(Thanks Googs)
Hehehe..syiok le tu! Anyway I'll be flying back to Kuching on 8 September 2010, catching the 11.40AM flight departing from KLIA. So kot sesapa kenal ke, jangan le malu-malu nak tegur!!Hahahha...(Ada ke yang baca blog ni?). I'll be home for only a week, and fly back to KL on Wednesday 15 September, which gave me ample time on the 16th to rest and prehaps, beraya kat KL pulak. Memang niat di hati nak beli return ticket on 16,but since I bought my ticket pretty late (last month baru beli!) so harga pun dah mahal!
So right now, preparation for Raya is pretty much done. Baju baru dah beli, biskut dah beli (semua main tunjuk-tunjuk je. Nak gak buat sendiri, tapi since balik 2 hari before Raya, rasanya tak sempat), kasut je belum. Err...nak kena beli jugak ke kasut baru? We'll see. Otherwise kalau tak sempat, I have lots of other shoes boleh pakai:)
OK next story, last week I was occupied, or rather,my family was pretty occupied with the arrival of our new bundle of joy. My preggy cousin gave birth to a baby boy on 23 August. Oh he's so adorable! And his name is Addin Riffqi. So I've been visiting them almost everyday as I also transported my aunt, and later my uncle from the airport, taking them for Raya shopping and such.

Riffqi, 2 hours after delivery via C-sec

He made his appearance way earlier than the EDD actually, but at least that enabled his parents to take him home to Kuching just in time for Raya. Smart boy!:)
On the other hand, ye lah yelah Qies aku jawab tag ko ni!! Hehheh...Terima kasih sebab kasik award kat aku okeh! Tapi sambil dapat award kena jawab soklan plak tu. Ishh...

Thank you Mem Swiss. Ko jangan lupa hadiah aku ko nak balik Raya ni tau! Hikkss...
1. Apakah yang bermain di minda anda sekarang?
Errmm...seriously? Right now just pikir nak habiskan entry ni, so that lepas tu nak mandi:). But generally, I'm thinking about nak kena packing barang nak bawak balik kampung Rabu ni hehehhe..
2. Apakah nama samaran anda?
Nama samaran? Err..sama ke dengan nama panggilan? Ok kalau samaran, kat forum I'm known as Mizz..., kat blog plak my alter-ego is Ray, but in real life usually people call me by the first syllable of my name, Sue. Apasal banyak sangat nama? Hmm..Ntahla, tak tau;)
3. Siapakah 3 orang yang paling kamu sayang?
Aiks 3 je?? Mana cukup! Parents, family, friends. Nahh!!..3 kategori okehh!!
4. Panggilan untuk si dia?
Hmm..not applicable la. But when we were still together, I called him 'Deng' ('Sayang' in general Bahasa Melayu Sarawak), or Sayang or Baby. Anybody would like to be my next 'Deng'? Hehheh..
5. Hadiah yang anda impikan daripada seseorang yang istimewa?
Nope I have no idea. Not applicable too? But if it were to be from anybody, could you guys nominate my apartment for a makeover macam dalam Casa Impian tu? Nanti I'll act surprise la...;;)
6. Blog mana yang anda selalu lawat?

7. TAG kan kepada 15 blogger?

Ok peeps, that's all for now. This is my cacamerba entry for today. Perhaps the next time you hear from me I'd be in Kuching already. But whatever it is..
Selamat Hari Raya to everyone, Maaf Zahir dan Batin! As we bid adeau to Ramadhan, let's welcome Syawal by extending our thankkfulness and syukur to Allah for giving us the opportunity to serve him more during Ramadhan and for the celebration that is Syawal. Let us all forge closer silaturrahim to our brothers and sisters, forgive each other and seek forgiveness, remember the ones who are gone and offer them our prayers and zakat and rememberance for their afterlife.
Salam Eid Mubarak!

(from Google, thanks!)

Festive Season, Season to Makan?
OK, so now I'm a bit more inspired to fill up the space left by my laziness to post proper new entry. It's unfair to view making entry in your blog as a chore kan? OK OK la...suffice to say I just had a bit of a writer's block and am now finally able to flow out the words...bla..bla...
Anyway for the last six weeks I've been in a non-stop succession of festivities, social events (social events kerrr..??), mini vacation/getaway and celebrations, emphasised by the fact that each of them due to the public holliday falling on Friday. So I've been having extended weekend for the last six weeks, which finally came to a halt this week *sigh* (what am I rambling about anyway???)
So here's a little roundup of the festive season/season to makan/festivities in the life of Mz. Ray. A few earlier ones may have been written before, but I will just give them a passing mention.
27/12/2009
It was Hari Raya Aidiladha. Like mentioned in the previous few entries, I had a minor celebration at my friend Sam's place. Small gathering of friends, and of course MAKAN...Sorry for breaking your plate Sam...Tak sengaja hehhehe.
Ceritanya, I was having his delicious mihun goreng and as he was also serving some Raya cookies in his cookie jar, thought I wanted to have a piece. I was sitting on the floor, and so I put my plate down la. Then after I took out a cookie, I really thought I closed the lid tightly, but then again it slipped off my hands. I dropped the cookie jar and landed on the plate. Jadinya pinggan tu terbelah tiga. Oopppss...sorry again Sam darlenggg...Malu!!*blushing*

4/12/2009
Flew home for my cousin Ida's wedding. Had a great time reuniting with family. The story is in the previous few entries.
11/12/2009
On the 11th itself I didn't do anything much. That was when we had a holiday due to the Sultan Selangor's birthday. But on the next day, Saturday, I had a small gathering with my other cat lover friends in Putrajaya.
Great time meeting some of them for the first time, but generally I've met them before this in our previous gathering.

Then, on that early Sunday morning, the 13th., another great time with my usual group of friends. This time we had a morning picnic at Kiara Park in the nearby Taman Tun. Posed for lots of photos, and more importantly, of spending precious times and sharing good food with friends. Oh...and to cuci mata too;)

18/12/2009
It was the Maal Hijrah holiday. But me and a few friends decided to go for a day trip to Cameron Highland. What was originally supposed to be a two-car convoy trip turned into a four-car convoy trip with some other people joining us, mostly friends of friends. It was enjoyable nonetheless. Great time to meet new people and make new friends. We had fun going to various places like the Kea Farm and the strawberry farm. Before returning to KL, our car detoured into the Boh Plantation despite it being way after the closing time. Thank god the guards still allowed us in, even if just to take some photos.
Brought home about RM20 worth of vegetables and corns, which took me about 2 weeks to finish. But well, I still have some also at home, and hope to have the will to finish them off before they go bad.
Tasted nice strawberry waffle, with dollops of strawberry jam and ice cream-easily the best thing I had there. I also ran into a uni mate, who came there with her family. Nothing much has changed, and it was indeed nice to know that she's having a good family life now:)
OK more pictures;)

On the next day, Saturday 20th. I had a mini gathering with school friends at The Curve. It was also a great time catching up with Marlene, whom I have not met since we left school, and Siti Aishah. Too bad the other friends couldn't make it, but we promised we'd hook up again in the near future. Everybody's done good with our respective lives.

We had such good chat and meal that we didn't really bother about posing for photos.
25/12/2009
OK OK so again, on Christmas Day itself I didn't do anything special in particular. I just went shopping for some grocery and later on met Siti Aishah (again!) and we went to watch Sherlock Holmes that night.
Originally my group thought we'd have a Xmas Eve party/potluck makan-makan. But as everyone was at work that day, we posponed to to Saturday 26th, so instead we had the Boxing Day makan-makan.
But before that, another reunion lined up in my social calendar. this time to 'celebrate' our 10 years of university graduation. Can't believe it's been 10 years since I graduated from UM, and to see my friends again-well some of them. Others I regularly meet, but a few of them memang tak pernah jumpa since graduation. We had our reunion lunch at Paya Serai Restaurant, PJ Hilton. Told ya that day was my biggest makan feast day!

Once I was done with my reunion lunch, I went straight back home and started preparing the last part of my shepherd's pie, this time for the makan-makan feast that night at Pantai Hillpark. I also tossed some salad (those from the CH trip) before leaving home at around 8.00pm.

31/12/2009-The New Year's Eve
So it was finally the end of 2009, and the coming of 2010. The end of my 4-day working weeks, and basically, back to the usual routine, with positive hopes for the new year.
I took a half-day leave on Thrsday, brought my car for a service (long-delayed one) and then settled at home before leaving for our barbecue party that night. I prepared potato salad and also with the leftover cabbages I made some coleslaw. Makan lagi!!*sigh*
Enjoy the pix!

So that's it folks, a roundup of what my previous six weekends have been like. Not saying that I'm very sociable, but I have great people around me who share my interests, who inspire me to be better and educate me in one way or another. I'm grateful for having them around, and I hope whoever I meet in the future can inspire me as these people have and continue doing.
